Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Beta Details Surface: PlayStation 3 on November 19, PC in December
A multiplayer beta for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be available on PlayStation 3 come November 19 and then hit PC in December, developer DICE announced today.
Those in North America can gain access to the PlayStation 3 beta by pre-ordering the game from GameStop, with those in Europe and Asia told to be on the lookout for “local opportunities.” The December-due PC beta, meanwhile, will be open to all.
But that’s not all, as a downloadable multiplayer demo will hit PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 “early next year,” presumably before the shooter’s retail release on March 2.
The beta includes one map, Africa Harbor, as seen in the below trailer… Read more

Left 4 Dead ‘Crash Course’ DLC Arrives Tuesday
The download–free on PC, 560 MS Points ($7) on Xbox 360–brings new maps to the zombie shooter for use in Campaign and Versus. New Survival maps are included as well.
“The primary goal of Crash Course is to deliver a complete Versus mode experience in just 30 minutes, resulting in a streamlined version of the game’s existing Versus campaigns,” explained the company.
Though Left 4 Dead 2 is due out November 17, the company has pledged to “keep supporting Left 4 Dead 1,” with more content apparently coming after Crash Course.

Lays the ground work for Crash Course While it seems that most of what the patch does is actually behind the curtain, we know that several improvements to the game were included as part of this patch. The biggest enhancement might be the improvements to the HUD when players are on the side of the zombies in the versus mode. The zombie HUD now counts down the special attack recharge of the other infected teammates you happen to be playing with. In addition to the zombie HUD enhancements, it would appear that additional achievements are to be added, as well, with the release of the Crash Course campaign. Previously, there were 50 achievements for Left 4 Dead, but after the patch the game is now showing a total of 60 achievements; the actual additional achievements are not showing up yet, but we suspect that they will once the Crash Course campaign is released. The news that the Crash Course content will cost Xbox 360 owners, while PC players will get the content for free, seems to still be stinging in many of the Left 4 Dead discussions. Maybe the new patch will serve as distraction while users explore the new patch to find out what else Valve may have changed. Our sources tell us that in additional to the changes that are most visible, like the zombie HUD enhancement, a number of behind the scenes changes have been made to address some exploit issues, as well. source: |
